15th Club will provide Team Europe with detailed performance data and analytics to inform strategic decision-making.

London – February 21, 2017 – 15th Club has been appointed by the Ladies European Tour to work with Team Europe ahead of the 2017 Solheim Cup. The most prestigious team event in women’s golf, this year’s edition of the tournament will be held at Des Moines Golf & Country Club in Iowa, USA from 18-20th August.

15th Club will work with European Solheim Cup captain Annika Sorenstam and her team to provide detailed performance information and analysis through a secure software that will enable them to track the performance of all eligible European players and inform key decisions on wildcard picks, pairings and overall strategy.

“I have always been a big believer in tracking stats to help improve performance and 15th Club does just that,” Annika said. “Numbers don’t lie and it will be great to have data on each European player right at my fingertips.”

“We are delighted to be working with Team Europe ahead of and during the Solheim Cup this summer,” said Duncan Carey, Head of Golf at 15th Club. “Our analytical approach philosophically aligns with Annika’s objectives, and we’re going to do everything we can to help Team Europe bring back the trophy in August.”

15th Club was founded in 2015 with the aim of helping golfers win by applying intelligence to data. Delivering analytical software and consultancy services, 15th Club works with players across all the major pro tours and has previously worked with Team Europe in the Ryder Cup.

About The Solheim Cup

The Solheim Cup combines the tradition and prestige of the game of golf with passion for one’s country and continent. This biennial, trans-Atlantic team match-play competition features the best European members from the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the best U.S.-born players from the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour

The Solheim Cup is named in honor of Karsten and Louise Solheim of Karsten Manufacturing Corporation, parent company of PING. In 1990, the Solheim family, in conjunction with the LET and the LPGA, developed the concept and became the sponsor for The Solheim Cup, professional golf’s international match-play competition for women. Held every two years, the event has grown into the most prestigious international women’s professional golf team event. The Solheim Cup is the most highly coveted trophy in women’s professional golf team competition; some of the most memorable moments in women’s golf have happened during Solheim Cups, and berths on the U.S. and European teams are highly coveted by players from both organisations.

The 2017 Solheim Cup will be held at Des Moines Golf & Country Club in West Des Moines, Iowa.  Team USA enters the competition holding the Cup after an historic and dramatic come-from-behind victory in Germany. They will look to defend its home turf after suffering their first ever home loss on American soil in 2013 at Colorado Golf Club. The American squad holds a 9-5 lead in the series, which began in 1990.

Global Partners for the event are PING, Rolex and DuPont. For more information about The Solheim Cup and updated standings for each team, log on to www.solheimcup.com and follow on Twitter and Instagram.
